A bow thruster is a propulsion device built into, or mounted to, the bow of a vessel to make it more maneuverable. Bow thrusters make docking easier, as they allows the vessel to turn to port or starboard without using the main propulsion mechanism which requires some forward motion for turning.
The bow thruster weight at 90 tons was constructed and installed by us including modification of the vessel's internal forepeak compartment.
The overall dimensions especially the thruster location, roundness of tunnel & side shell fashion are the main areas to observe during construction. |
